Our second Tea and Chocolate event with Alexis Templeton Studios is just in time for Easter. Taking place during the Studios March of Mugs, we will pair some of Alexis' fine selection of good quality, fair trade and bean to bar chocolate  with some of our best teas. Come join us for an evening that will delight your taste buds. The teas and chocolates sampled will be for sale at this event; Along with the beautiful mugs and other pieces produced by the studio.How's that for a great Easter gift?

Our first Pop Up Shop will be a great afternoon for you to purchase some of our teas, try our sample and pick up your orders. Need a beautiful new mug, creamer or a few plates to serve your tea treats?  Alexis has some of the most beautiful pottery available. See some of her pieces online, but they are best viewed in person.

Final Weekend on Water Street!

So, this is me five and a half years ago. We had just opened and set out on the road of introducing good quality loose tea to the city. I was excited and nervous.

Today I am excited and nervous and a little sad. The store has been wonderful! I loved coming to work everyday, but a change was needed. Here we are starting out on a new path.

The online version of Britannia Teas and Gifts will be up and running by the end of March. We will have all your favorite teas, a gift section and food section online.

For this, our final weekend on Water St., we have decided to discount everthing(including the teas) 50% off . Some items will be 75% off and others have sale prices on them.

BIG THINGS BREWING AT BRITANNIA TEAS & GIFTS

After steeping away in our store at 199 Water Street, we have decided to let loose and try some new ventures.

We will be introducing an online store where you can place yourorders and we will deliver them to you. Now that’s tea service!

In the spirit of change we will be focusing on events, markets and pop-up stores. We will let you know where we will be appearing via our blog, Facebook and Twitter pages and our email list. We are really looking forward to doing more events! Tea tastings, storytelling and more great times are ahead.

In the order for us to pursue these ideas, we will be closing our location on Water Street. Starting today everything in the shop will be 20% to75% off. Our final day of business will be Sunday, February 24th.

Downtown Tax Free Day

This Thursday, November is Downtown Tax Free Day. We will be tax free on gift items and 10% off tea and food items(that don't have tax normally). Here are a few pictures of our holiday items to get you inspired for Thursday.

800lbs of jams, cookies, whiskey fudge and more yummy treats!

Our stock of yummy treats arrived on Tuesday. All 800 lbs of goodies took the whole day to unpack, display and store. I am still sore from the lifting and the tromping up and down the stairs. Now I need to try everything!

Our Mrs. Bridges line has introduced some special jams and chutneys for the holidays and some fantastic gift sets, including the always popular 3 packs of preserves or marmalade. They fit perfectly in a stocking.

 

New this year is  a line of whiskey marmalade and fudge. They have been selling really well over the past couple of days, to our male customers especially. One gentleman was going home to write a letter to Santa.

 

 

Another new line of Maxims of Paris, which includes teas, hot cocoa and biscuits. I just love the tins.

 

Back this year are the Baru Chai Latte mixes. They flew out the door last year and we had some sad faces when people found out that they were a Christmas only item.

 

Popular last year were the cheese crackers from Grate Britain. The pouches were in several stockings last Christmas.

 

 

There are many other food items that arrived this week and aprons and tea cozies and much more. Drop in to see what's new and don't forget that many of our items are just here for the holiday season.

 

 

 

 

 

We've snuck in a bit of Christmas.

Customers have been asking us when we are going to have our Christmas stock since July. So, we have snuck a bit into the back corner of the store. Here are a few pictures of some of the stock that has snuck in and has already started to sell.

This beautiful centerpiece is also available in silver and can live in your home all year round by replaceing the bulbs with other decorative pieces like shells and beach rocks.

 

Leave Santa a pot of tea and a plate of cookies with these two pieces.

 

Our felt trivets and coasters are a beautiful bargain at just 3 dollars each for the trivet and 75 cents each for the coasters. We have snowflake trivets in white and ivory available, but at this price they are selling fast!

 

Frosty makes an appearance in the form of cookie jar, salt and pepper set and place cards. Nothing could be cuter.

 

Except these guys.

 

Set your table with these wonderful naphin rings or this snowflake napkin holder.

 

 I don't think they will let me take it with me when I go see White Christmas at Holy Heart, but I will use ithis holiday bowl for popcorn when I watch my favorite holiday movie at home.

 

 

There are more items in the shop including holiday platters, chip and dip bowls and candle holders. Stop in for an early peak. We will be decorating the store including our always popular holiday window for November 12th., but we will see you before than in the shop.
